Hello everybody!
This is the first of a few blogs that I will post about different things that I did on my holiday in Ireland last week. This first one is especially exciting, as I met a new friend!
We all went in the car to Bective to see the ruins of a 12th century abbey near the River Boyne. It was a nice day, a bit chilly and cloudy, but that doesn’t bother me! When we got there, there was a golden labrador in the car park waiting to greet us! His name tag on his collar said ‘Jake’ and he was really friendly. He gave us a tour of the abbey…

We soon got exploring and Jake showed me around:

There were lots of ruins left of this abbey to walk around and see:

My master really likes to explore old buildings – can you see that the dogs have lost interest slightly?!

After a LONG time running around and playing, it started to rain! Louise and master took shelter in the abbey ruins, but Jake and I just used it as an excuse to lie, rest and cool down!

So, after a lot of fun exploring and playing, it was time to say goodbye to Jake – his owner was a local man who just happened to be driving past as we we saying goodbye to Jake. He told us that Jake goes to the abbey every morning to meet new people, loves to meet children who will run around with him and, of course, fellow dogs!
My next will be a blog about a county fair day that we went to!
Until then, be good(lad)!
Mr Goodlad.
